Although Netball is a fun and highly social non-contact sport, the risk of certain injuries can be heightened by the fast paced and high impact nature of the game. Ankle sprains are among the most common of injuries sustained from a netball game. This is because of the landing and pivoting motion required. The stop/start nature of the game also contributes to knee strains, and in particular anterior cruciate knee ligament injuries. Other common sites of pain include the groin, patella tendon and Achilles tendon. It is very important, when playing Netball, to be wearing appropriate footwear. More often than not, the joggers worn for the gym are not going to give the right support.
